Across Canada Day 2

Dad and I woke on day two of our Journey at the edge of the province of Quebec. We packed up our stuff (Dad forgot his pajamas in the bathroom but I collected them for him). We ate our continental breakfast, and we were off. Within minutes we were in Ontario heading toward and then past Ottawa.

As we reached North Bay, we had to decide weather to drive along lake Superior, or to travel north to the Canadian Shield. Though the northern root is a few hundred kilometers longer, it takes about the same time as the Lake Superior route which has slower driving. We decided to travel west and then North along lake Superior.

The landscape along the great lake and the smaller lakes around it was both rugged and beautiful. There were lots of turns and hills, but the payoff in scenery was spectacular.

As with the previous day, our day was filled with great conversation. We also began listening to an audiobook "Confessions of an Economic Hit-man"

We didn't see a ton of wildlife, but we saw a few hawks and three deer (one was a stage with a medium sized rack). We turned North at Sault Ste Marie and set Wawa as our destination for the day. We hit the outskirts of Wawa, and stayed in the firth motel in town, the White Fang. Pierre had recommended it the previous evening. It was very nice run by a cheeky middle aged German lady.

I sat down, wrote my blog on day one and felt too tired to write on day two. I thre on a new UFC and watched a fight before finally falling asleep for the night.

After the Lid of the cooler flew off, Dad is Dict taping it back on (Thank you Red-Green)

Good day 2
