Orange and Lemon Trees, Picnic in the desert . Week 2, Tuesday 2016

Today we drove  on the road to Ensenada, crossed into a National Park.
The road was as straight as a pin, until we reached the mountains.
Then it was all curves and twists.  The first seven photos show the drive.

We came to this remote tiny village called San Matias.
It had a school, church, and tiny corner store.
In this village we found lemon trees and Orange tree,
and with permission we ask to pick a few, and was greeted
with great kindness.

Also note the colour of the homes and how many of them
despite there somewhat poor looking conditions have satellights.

This is how ever street looked...Sand dirt!

This was a sign at the corner...rusted and unreadable...Hahaha

This was the middle of town....in all of its glory.

For all my quilting friends...I found this one for your viewing pleasure.

A LEMON TREE!  THAT WAS NEAT TO SEE!

Papa hand picked his own lemon, right from this tree!

ORANGE TREE...................GOLLY GEE!

I picked it fresh from the tree...it was very sour to eat.

After about an hour in the town, shooting it up...
we left to find a place to have our picnic.

Papa found just the right spot.

These photo are exactly what we saw!
I also came across a colony of humming birds
and did a hour + photo shoot of just the birds...will share later.

The desert floor has such a variety of different species of cactus that
it looks like a cactus garden.  Soooooo worth seeing!

I love these one humpers cactus that poke out of the rocks

Here is what I call the Cowboy Cactus!

This cactus almost looks furry, and when the sun it it it really is beautiful

A tree with a trunk as green as it branches are..NEAT

My little one humpers......

A Desert berry.....

The sun began to slip behind the mountain and we packed it in
and headed back to San Filipe.
Now this is what I call, experience the REAL MEXICAN LIFE.
